Students were thrown into life at Sir Richard. With over 180 boys and girls from all over the world, students had a chance to meet new friends and practise their English.
During the first week boys stayed in Fryer and Reckitt boarding houses, whilst girls stayed in School, Grove and Field houses.
There were many students from many different countries joining us this year at Studio and we welcomed many groups of all different sizes.
Aside from the Monday morning English tests, the students were encouraged to participate in sports such as swimming and rounders and make beautiful creations in the art room under the direction of the school's resident art teacher. A highlight of the week for many students was the Saturday night talent show, where students could show case their music and dance skills. The Dance students, who had been practising hard all week, got to perform their dance in front of the other students. The football boys were awarded their medals after the "world cup" they had played earlier that day - huge congratulations to 'Real Madrid' for winning!
In week one, the students got to visit London and see the sights! Later the group split up, with the football boys visiting the mighty Wembley stadium and the other student had the chance to see Matilda the Musical - much fun was had by all.
Even more exciting than London, many of the students looked forward to the Sunday excursion to Harry Potter Studios! Here the students got to walk down Diagon Alley, Enter the Great Hall and attempt to fly a broomstick! The gift shop was enjoyed by all, with one student even buying a replica wand!
What a great start to the course and still 4 more weeks to go!
